Join Our Communications Committee!

The Communications Committee (CC) is a highly energetic and excelling volunteer group of CPRC members who are interested in facilitating the communications and outreach of CPRC.

The CC is responsible for the publication of the bi-annual chapter newsletter under the leadership of the Newsletter Editor.  The role of newsletter editor involves leading the development and generation of CPRC’s bi-annual newsletter. The Fall and Spring newsletters are usually published in mid April and late October.  These dates are usually just prior to the CPRC annual spring meeting (usually in late April) and the SETAC NA annual meeting (usually in early November).  The newsletter editor, in conjunction with the Communications Committee, generates a workplan with article ideas, potential authors, action items and due dates.  The newsletter editor then coordinates the writing of the articles and eventually pulls all the material together and, using a provided template, finalizes the newsletter for publication.  The time commitment is focused on the three months prior to the publication dates (January to April; August to October) with less than 1 hour a week early in the process but up to 3 or 4 hours for the week prior to publication.  For plenty of newsletter examples please check out our newsletter page on the website where we have over a decade of newsletters archived (https://cprcsetac.wordpress.com/newsletters/)

The CC Social Media Coordinator (email) maintains the CPRC FacebookLinkedIn and Twitter accounts.  If you are new to social media and want to learn how to maximize your online experience, please check out this Social Media User Guide.

CC has established a CPRC SETAC LinkedIn Group which also functions as a One-Stop Job Shop.  Join the group and check in frequently to watch for exciting job opportunities being posted.  Post a job by clicking ‘Start a Discussion’ and selecting ‘Job’. Or check the Job Opportunities page on the website.

The CPRC website is constantly being updated and also functions as a blog.  Please direct your questions, comments and feedback to website.cprc.setac@gmail.com.

The most important method for CPRC to communicate with our members is via the cprc.setac@gmail.com email account.

If you are motivated and energetic and would like to become involved in the CC, or if you just have newsletter article ideas or communication suggestions, please contact the CC chair, the CPRC Secretary (secretary.cprc.setac@gmail.com).
